TRT Lab ("TRT Lab," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application designed to help users track testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocols, log injections, record bloodwork results, maintain wellness journals, and receive optimization insights through pharmacokinetic modeling.
This Privacy Policy explains how TRT Lab handles information when you use our mobile application available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and when you visit this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
TRT Lab does not require user accounts. Your health and protocol data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to enable cloud sync if and when that feature becomes available.
2. Information We Collect
TRT Lab is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal information and do not operate a backend server that stores your personal or medical data.
2.1 Data You Enter in the App
All information you voluntarily enter into TRT Lab is stored locally on your device. This includes:
- Protocol information: testosterone ester type, weekly dose, injection schedule, steady-state status, and custom dose overrides
- Profile data: name, age, weight, and height used for pharmacokinetic calculations
- Injection logs: dates, times, and dose amounts for each logged injection
- Bloodwork results: biomarker values such as Total Testosterone, Estradiol, Hematocrit, SHBG, Prolactin, LDL, and HDL, along with associated dates and notes
- Journal entries: daily wellness scores (energy, libido, mood, anxiety, acne, sleep) and free-text notes
- Additional medications: medication names, dosages, schedules, and reminder preferences
- App settings: notification preferences, selected theme, premium status, and display preferences
2.2 Data We Do Not Collect
TRT Lab does not collect, transmit, or store on our servers:
- Your name, email address, or contact information (unless you contact us directly)
- Your injection history, bloodwork results, or journal entries
- Device identifiers for advertising or tracking purposes
- Location data
- Analytics or usage telemetry through third-party analytics SDKs
- Health data through Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect (TRT Lab does not integrate with these platforms at this time)
3. How Your Data Is Stored
All app data is stored locally on your device using the platform's secure local storage mechanisms (SharedPreferences on Android and UserDefaults on iOS). Your protocols, injections, bloodwork, journal entries, and settings remain on your device and are not transmitted to TRT Lab or any third-party server.
Because data is stored locally, uninstalling the app or clearing app data will permanently delete your stored information. We recommend maintaining your own records of important health data outside the app.
Medical information remains on your device. TRT Lab does not upload, access, or have visibility into your health records. We cannot recover your data if you lose your device or delete the app.
4. Local Notifications
TRT Lab uses local notifications to remind you of scheduled activities. These notifications are processed entirely on your device and do not involve transmission of your data to external servers. Notification types include:
- Injection reminders on your scheduled injection days
- Daily journal logging reminders
- Testosterone level alerts based on estimated peak and trough timing
- Medication reminders for additional medications you have configured
You can enable or disable notifications at any time through the app settings or your device's system notification settings. On Android, the app may request permissions for exact alarm scheduling to deliver timely reminders. On iOS, you will be prompted to grant notification permission when you first enable reminders.
5. Premium Subscriptions
TRT Lab offers optional premium features ("TRT Pro") through in-app subscriptions processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not directly collect or store your payment information.
When you purchase or manage a subscription:
- Payment processing, billing, and receipt validation are handled by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies
- We receive only the minimum information necessary to verify your subscription status (such as a purchase receipt token) to unlock premium features on your device
- Subscription management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings
Premium product identifiers include trt_lab_pro_monthly and trt_lab_pro_yearly. Your premium status is stored locally on your device after purchase verification.
6. Future Cloud Sync
TRT Lab may offer optional cloud sync in a future update to allow you to back up and restore your data across devices. If cloud sync is introduced:
- It will be opt-in and disabled by default
- We will update this Privacy Policy before the feature launches
- You will be notified within the app and given clear controls to enable, disable, or delete synced data
- Any cloud-stored data will be encrypted in transit and at rest
Until cloud sync is available, no data leaves your device except as described in this policy (such as subscription verification through Apple or Google).
7. How We Use Information
Because TRT Lab stores data locally, we do not use your health information for any purpose. The limited information we may process includes:
- Subscription verification: to confirm premium feature access through Apple or Google purchase APIs
- Support communications: if you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry
- Website visits: this static website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
8. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share your health information with third parties because we do not have access to it.
The only circumstances in which limited information may be shared are:
- App store platforms: Apple and Google process subscription transactions under their own privacy policies
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, though our local-first architecture means we hold minimal data
9. Data Retention
Data you enter in TRT Lab is retained on your device until you delete it within the app, clear app data, or uninstall the application. We do not retain copies of your health data on our servers.
If you contact support via email, we retain correspondence for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and comply with applicable legal obligations, after which it is deleted.
10. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding your personal data. Because TRT Lab stores health data locally on your device and does not maintain a central database of user information, you maintain direct control over your data at all times.
Your rights include:
- Right of access: you can view all data stored in the app directly within TRT Lab
- Right to rectification: you can edit or update your data at any time within the app
- Right to erasure: you can delete individual entries or all app data by clearing data within the app or uninstalling TRT Lab
- Right to restrict processing: because data is processed locally on your device, you control all processing by choosing what to enter and whether to enable features like notifications
- Right to data portability: you can manually record or export your data as you see fit; automated export features may be added in future updates
- Right to object: you may disable notifications and premium features at any time
- Right to lodge a complaint: you may contact your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated

11. Apple App Store Compliance
TRT Lab complies with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines regarding privacy and data collection:
- We provide this Privacy Policy through the App Store listing and within the app
- We disclose that health and fitness data entered by the user is stored locally on the device
- We do not use data for tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework
- We do not collect data from HealthKit
- Subscription terms and pricing are clearly displayed before purchase
- Users can restore purchases without creating an account
12. Google Play Compliance
TRT Lab complies with Google Play's User Data and Privacy policies:
- We complete the Google Play Data Safety section accurately, reflecting that personal and health data is stored locally and not transmitted to our servers
- We request only permissions necessary for app functionality (such as notification and exact alarm permissions on Android)
- We do not sell personal or sensitive user data
- Subscription billing is handled through Google Play Billing
- Users can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play
13. Children's Privacy
TRT Lab is intended for adults managing testosterone replacement therapy under medical supervision. The app is not directed at children under the age of 16 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us through a support inquiry, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
14. Security
Your data benefits from the security protections built into your device's operating system, including device encryption and app sandboxing. Because data never leaves your device (except for subscription verification tokens processed by Apple or Google), the primary security measure is physical and device-level access control. We recommend using a device passcode, biometric lock, and keeping your operating system updated.
15. International Users
TRT Lab is available internationally through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Because your data is stored locally on your device, it remains in your physical possession regardless of your location. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages and does not collect visitor data.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, applicable laws, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Your continued use of TRT Lab after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
